Miikka Leskinen divides his time between the UK and Finland, working both as a Director and a Film Editor. He graduated from the National Film and Television School (UK) in 2007 and his directorial debut short film, FIREWOOD, premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2008. It was nominated for a Crystal Bear. He also took part in the Berlinale Talent Campus the same year.

Miikka’s second directorial short film, SMALL-TIME REVOLUTIONARY, was completed in early 2010. Following a successful festival run, the film was broadcast in Finland by the Finnish Broadcasting Corporation (YLE) in January 2011. It has also been released in the cinemas and on DVD in Germany. Miikka's third short film, ALL IN GOOD TIME, was completed in August 2011.

Miikka's editing work has been in competition in Cannes, Venice and Sundance, winning numerous international awards. Miikka's editorial debut feature, THE NINE MUSES (dir. John Akomfrah), premiered at the Venice Film Festival in August 2010, followed by London Film Festival in October and Sundance Film Festival in January 2011. The film will be released theatrically in the UK cinemas and MoMA New York in October 2011.

Miikka is currently developing his directorial debut feature, HARBOUR.
